Heal in Nature Retreat (25 Hour Training)

March 5 - 10, 2025
South Island, New Zealand

Maruia River Retreat

Join Joan Hyman in a five-night immersive personal retreat experience and explore how to cultivate the opposites of Sthira Sukha, and balance stability with ease. Learn what it feels like to cultivate physical stability and strength on and off the mat and how that can reflect in your mental state as you anchor your mind into the body. Each day will open up with a two-hour asana practice, exploring your edges and also understanding when to back off. Sukha helps us soften and cultivate a sense of ease in the body and mind. This happens when we are reminded to breathe and slow down.

We will explore many pranayama and restorative practices which help us anchor the mind into the body and regulate our nervous system. A balanced nervous system is the key to health and well-being. This is where true healing can occur.
