About the Practice

The Hatha Yoga Pradipika is an ancient text that explains Hatha Yoga from a Tantric approach.   This scripture provides detailed instruction on the mysterious world full of energetics that a yogi can access through disciplined practice. Working with the mind and Prana, a yogi can awaken to higher states of consciousness.

Come join Jeanne Heileman as she introduces you to this magical text. Joan Hyman will start the course reviewing Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras to set the foundation. Day Two will introduce the Pradipika and cover the first two chapters.  Day Three will close with the last two chapters.  Both Day Two and Three will include asana, Pranayama, and Meditation in alignment with the chapters of focus.  In addition to breaking down the scripture, we will compare its uniqueness to  Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, realizing the variety of approaches to the practice of yoga.

This course is offered as part of the 300-Hour Teacher Training through The School of Yoga. It is also offered as a 10-hour continuing educational course through Tantra Flow Yoga, available to yoga students and teachers around the globe.

The full program will be offered live via Zoom.

Recordings will be made available for students and for anyone who is not able to join us directly.

For those seeking a YA credit, there will be a homework assignment to assimilate the material. You will receive 10 Hours towards Yoga Alliance.
