200 Hour Teacher Training at Purna Retreat Center,

Pokhara, Nepal, February 8 - 22, 2026

Join Joan Hyman, Chrissy Gonzalez, and the School of Yoga’s international community in Pokhara Nepal for a 200 hour teacher training at the exquisite setting of Purna Retreat Center.

This Yoga Alliance 200 hour training is hosted by The School of Yoga which is a continuing education teacher training school for inspiring yogis who want to deepen their understanding of the yoga practice and take their teaching to the next level.  You don’t have to want to teach yoga to enroll in this training, only have the desire to go deeper in your practice.

What to expect:

The 200 hour training is a foundational training focused on alignment, sequencing, anatomy (physical and subtle), and philosophy. By the end, you will be able to teach a short class and prepare a safe and effective sequence. You will also leave the training with a deeper understanding of the practice of yoga and how to create a practice to meet your individual needs. This training will prepare you to teach at a fundamental level and prepare you for the SOY’s (School of Yoga) 300-HOUR training.

You will receive a 15 hour pre-recorded prep-course to work on at your own convenience before the training begins. You will also receive 10 free classes on both Joan and Chrissy’s platform to prepare for the training. Once the training is complete, you will have access to The School of Yoga’s “Sequencing to Transform” 25 hour module to help you advance your studies.

This training is suited for serious students of yoga as well as aspiring teachers

The curriculum will include:

• The study of Asana (Yoga Posture).

• Anatomy applied to Asana.

• The benefits and contraindications of asana and how to make postures accessible to everyone.
